Forêt: Beaches and Redwoods

A few weeks ago, a few of my friends and I went on a “Beaches and Redwoods” adventure trip. We got up early on a Sunday morning, and drove towards Half Moon Bay, to Purisima Creek Redwoods Preserve. We spent the morning hiking in the middle of tall, majestic redwood trees and then headed to the beach to unwind in the afternoon. It was an absolutely beautiful day, and I love living in a place where I can regularly have days like that.

The coastline of the Pacific Northwest, with its forests by the sea, is so special. California’s coastal forests are enchantingly unique–the salty sea air combines with the smell of evergreens eucalyptus, and other flora. The air is fresh, clean, and crisp, and being there is simultaneously calming and energizing. These forests (easily reachable in Big Sur, Carmel, Half Moon Bay, or Point Reyes) are a perfect escape and reset–for your mind and your body–from the craziness of everyday life.

Forêt captures their magnificent scent. It is a quiet early-morning hike under the canopy of grand trees, where ocean air flirts with the forest. The earthy scents of Clary Sage, Scotch Pine and Mountain Savory greet you. Sweet Fennel helps with clarity and focus. Juniper Berry, used by Native Americans to cleanse and purify the air, is fresh and crisp. Woody Cypriol is calming. Fill your space and inspire your senses with this invigorating blend from Essentique.
