Thanksgiving mask with pumpkin, cranberry and cinnamon!

Private Event
When: Tuesday, November 14th from 6:30-8:00 PM
Where: Essentique, 2417 Park Blvd. Palo Alto

Thanksgiving is around the corner. Let’s thank our body and skin with some loving care. Join us at Essentique for a relaxing and fun facial night, and let yourself be pampered inside and out–with healthy and delicious snacks, a freshly-made face mask, and a wonderful hand massage by a licensed masseuse. You will have a chance to try some of Essentique’s hand and face products, and leave with a seasonal gift.
The theme for the night is Thanksgiving. We will be diffusing our Pumpkin Autumn Spice essential oil blend to help get us into the spirit of the holiday. The fresh masque for the night is formulated with several ingredients taken from the Thanksgiving dinner table, including squash, cranberries, and cinnamon.
The full list of ingredients is:

  • Organic Butternut Squash
  • Organic Cranberry
  • Organic Whole Eggs
  • Manuka Honey 16+
  • Fresh Aloe Vera Leaf Inner Fillet
  • Organic Pumpkin seed oil
  • Organic Cinnamon
  • CoEnzyme Q10
  • Essentique’s Vipaka Face Pack

Butternut squash contains many vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to your face. Carotenoids are powerful and protective antioxidants (beta-carotenoids reduce the harmful effects of pollutants and UV rays that your skin comes in contact with daily). A host of minerals such as potassium and zinc promote skin renewal and fight acne. Vitamin A softens and smoothes skin, Vitamin B improves circulation and helps treat acne, Vitamin C stimulates collagen production and helps eliminate wrinkles, and Vitamin E regulates sebum, which is a major cause of an oily complexion. Butternut is the squash with the highest concentration of vitamins A and C.

Pumpkin seed oil contains Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, vitamins A and C, zinc. Pumpkin seeds oil is deeply moisturizing and because of vitamin C and zinc content helps with tightening and firming the skin. It is a great oil for sensitive skin.

Cranberry is also helpful in treating oily skin, and also contains vitamin C. Its antioxidants and flavonoids are anti-inflammatory. This super berry also contains B5, which retains moisture in your face for softer skin.

Another ingredient that fights acne and reduces the signs of aging is cinnamon. It tightens pores and firms your face by expanding capillaries and increasing bloodflow to your skin. It also contains antioxidants and can help dry out acne.

Manuka honey is super nourishing and hydrating and great for eczema. Manuka honey UMF16 (which is the quality we will be using) is considered to have superior quality that contains superior levels of phenols that are highly therapeutic.

The proteins in whole eggs (that is, both the yolk and the white) repair skin tissue, toning your skin and fighting fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin A and lutein both give your skin elasticity. Collagen moisturizes and supports the proteins’ ability to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. In the egg white there is an enzyme known as lysozyme that lightens and encourages fading of acne scars, red or dark spots, and hyperpigmentation.

Aloe Vera moisturizes the skin by bringing oxygen to the surface and improves the skin’s ability to hydrate itself.

CoEnzyme Q10 is a must in any daily facial regimen. It is a vitamin like substance that is produced naturally in our body. It helps with collagen production and reducing the appearance of skin aging and wrinkle formation.

Vipaka Face Pack is my favorite mask at Essentique. In it, manjistha, amalaki, and anantamul work together to give your skin a smooth even tone. Manjistha, a flowering plant in the coffee family, gives the skin a radiant glow and an even tone. Amalaki fruit is very high in vitamin C, and nourishes, tones and promotes healthy skin. Anantamul, or Indian Sarsaparilla, helps to improve scars and pigmentation while supporting clear skin.

If you have any allergies please let me know in advance so that I can make necessary  adjustments to the food and masque.
Gaby and I are looking forward to an unforgettable gathering with healthy treats for our body and skin. You will go home glowing from inside out and lots of fun photos to post on Facebook and Instagram! Don’t forget to tag us! (@essentique, @essentique.founder)

With love,
